Stripe analytics & MRR tracking for SaaS · public beta · $29–$199/mo
What illumi does well
Clear category anchor in the page title ("Stripe Analytics and MRR Tracking for SaaS") — a visitor from Google knows instantly what this is.
Comparison grid vs Stripe Dashboard removes the "why not just use Stripe?" objection without sounding defensive.
Pricing is transparent and named by user stage ("For solo founders" / "For growing SaaS" / "For scale-ups") — low friction.
Top 3 conversion killers
Killer 1
The hero sells an abstraction ("clarity") instead of an outcome
"Financial clarity for your Stripe data" is internally satisfying but externally weak. Nobody wakes up wanting clarity — they wake up dreading the monthly "what's my real MRR?" Slack thread with their co-founder, or the investor update where the numbers have to match. Lead with the moment, not the abstraction.
Killer 2
Zero social proof above the fold — and a "Now in public beta" tag on top
No customer count, no testimonial, no logo wall, no founder tweet embed. The only trust signal is a beta tag, which reads as "no one has trusted this yet." For a product that touches revenue data, the trust bar is higher than a to-do app. One real quote ("illumi caught a $1,800 refund I missed for 3 weeks — Sarah, founder of X") beats the entire feature grid.
Killer 3
The hero demo panel uses obvious fake data
"$47,832 gross revenue · acme@corp.io · dev@mail.com" — the placeholder emails are dead giveaways. A prospect who's skeptical about a beta tool will see this and conclude the product can't produce real screenshots yet. Either use a real (anonymised) customer's dashboard, or strip the demo tile and replace with a 20-second Loom of a real Stripe connect.
Hero rewrite
Before
H1: Financial clarity for your Stripe data
Sub: Generate professional reports in seconds. Track revenue, monitor MRR, and reconcile payouts—without the enterprise price tag.
CTA: Start free trial · See how it works
After — option A (outcome-led)
H1: Know your real MRR in 60 seconds. Without SQL, without a spreadsheet.
Sub: Connect Stripe, get the MRR, LTV and cohort numbers your investors actually ask for. $29/mo. No Sigma, no Baremetrics price tag.
CTA (primary): Connect Stripe — see my MRR
CTA (secondary): See a sample report (PDF)
Before
H1: Financial clarity for your Stripe data
After — option B (moment-led, sharper)
H1: The investor update is tomorrow. Your MRR number is still wrong.
Sub: illumi connects to Stripe and gives you the exact MRR, churn and LTV numbers investors expect — in a report you can forward as-is.
CTA: Connect Stripe (free for 14 days)
Why the rewrite works: names a specific moment of pain (investor update, wrong MRR) that the ICP lives through monthly; replaces "clarity" with numbers they can verify (MRR / churn / LTV); replaces "free trial" with an action verb tied to the outcome.
Feature-section fix
Before
Everything you need to understand your Stripe data
After
Six questions Stripe can't answer. illumi can.
· What was my actual take-home last month, after fees and refunds?
· Is my MRR actually growing, or am I just adding users who'll churn?
· Which Stripe transactions are in Tuesday's bank deposit?
· Which acquisition channel brings me customers who stay 12+ months?
· When do my customers usually churn — month 2 or month 6?
· Is my 4.2% churn normal for my ARR range?
This makes the visitor nod yes six times before they scroll, and gives them the vocabulary to pitch illumi to their co-founder.
A/B test to run next
Control: "Financial clarity for your Stripe data"
Variant: "The investor update is tomorrow. Your MRR number is still wrong."
Primary metric:Start free trial click-through rate from hero.
Secondary: Scroll depth past pricing section.
Sample size: ~2,000 hero visits per arm (assuming ~4% baseline CTR, MDE = +30% relative). On current traffic this probably runs 2–3 weeks.
If the variant loses — it's confrontational, so plausible — fall back to option A (outcome-led) as the next arm. Don't go back to "clarity" as-is.
